                                                                                                                                              In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away.Who will declare His generation?For his life is taken from the earth."Isaiah 53:7,8
                                                                                                                                                John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?"
                                                                                                                                                  Jesus answered them,"Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
                                                                                                                                                    Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.
                                                                                                                                                      James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."
                                                                                                                                                        When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John.
                                                                                                                                                          But if we say, 'From men,' we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet."
                                                                                                                                                            If we should say, 'From men'"-they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.
                                                                                                                                                              Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
                                                                                                                                                                They said, "Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."
                                                                                                                                                                  But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet."
                                                                                                                                                                    John answered them, "I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don't know.
                                                                                                                                                                      He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.
                                                                                                                                                                        that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke,"Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none."John 6:39
                                                                                                                                                                          They told him, "John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others: one of the prophets."
                                                                                                                                                                            For John said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."
                                                                                                                                                                              These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
                                                                                                                                                                                He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and there he stayed.
                                                                                                                                                                                  Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.
                                                                                                                                                                                    Therefore"'Come out from among them,and be separate,' says the Lord.'Touch no unclean thing.I will receive you.Isaiah 52:11; Ezekiel 20:34,41

They will become one flock with one shepherd.

                                                                                                                                                                                                As the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he was the Christ,
                                                                                                                                                                                                  In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
                                                                                                                                                                                                    But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
                                                                                                                                                                                                      beginning from the baptism of John, to the day that he was received up from us, of these one must become a witness with us of his resurrection."
                                                                                                                                                                                                        John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came, and were baptized.
                                                                                                                                                                                                          He asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, "His name is John."They all marveled.
                                                                                                                                                                                                            This is John's testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
                                                                                                                                                                                                              before his coming, when John had first preached the baptism of repentance to Israel.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Now when John heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples
                                                                                                                                                                                                                    But Herod, when he heard this, said, "This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                      They answered, "'John the Baptizer,' but others say, 'Elijah,' and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                        One of the two who heard John, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Herod said, "John I beheaded, but who is this, about whom I hear such things?" He sought to see him.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "The LORD's word which you have spoken is good." He said moreover, "Isn't it so, if peace and truth will be in my days?"
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, "The LORD, the God of Israel says, 'Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,

He said moreover, "For there will be peace and truth in my days."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      When they were at Salamis, they proclaimed God's word in the Jewish synagogues. They had also John as their attendant.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                They came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, the same baptizes, and everyone is coming to him."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  In those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John's baptism.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.'
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              and said to his servants, "This is John the Baptizer. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    She, being prompted by her mother, said, "Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptizer."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      In the law it is written, "By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. Not even thus will they hear me, says the Lord."Isaiah 28:11-12

From that time the Good News of God's Kingdom is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            As John was fulfilling his course, he said, 'What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.'
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Because it is contained in Scripture,"Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, and precious:He who believes in him will not be disappointed."Isaiah 28:16
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: "Death is swallowed up in victory."Isaiah 25:8
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then "let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."Isaiah 22:13

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Now John himself wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Isaiah cries concerning Israel,"If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea,it is the remnant who will be saved;
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying,"I am the light of the world.Isaiah 60:1He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."

He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        saying to them,"It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,'Isaiah 56:7but you have made it a 'den of robbers'!"Jeremiah 7:11

Where did they come from to you?"Hezekiah said, "They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon."

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn't believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn't even repent afterward, that you might believe him.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,'John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.'

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      "For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer, yet he who is least in God's Kingdom is greater than he."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        They said to him, "Why do John's disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?"
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples."

If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              James the son of Zebedee; and John, the brother of James, (whom he called them Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder);
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon.Jesus said to Simon,"Don't be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              John answered them all, "I indeed baptize you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                But as it is written,"Things which an eye didn't see, and an ear didn't hear,which didn't enter into the heart of man,these God has prepared for those who love him."Isaiah 64:4
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from men?"They reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will ask us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Jesus answered them,"Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Jesus answered him,"Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew,John 3:7 (anothen) also means "again" and "from above".he can't see God's Kingdom."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace,who bring glad tidings of good things!"Isaiah 52:7
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Isaiah said, "This will be the sign to you from The LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he has spoken: should the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?"
